Career opportunities - Cape Town office (Granger Bay)
We are looking for a curious, creative Graduate or Junior Engineer to join our growing Cape Town team.
The opportunity
At SUTHERLAND FACADES, we believe the building envelope is far more than glass and aluminium. It is where architecture, engineering, sustainability and human experience come together. We engineer façades that improve human wellbeing, deliver measurable performance and create lasting architectural legacy across Sub-Saharan Africa.
You will work within a specialist façade engineering team on a diverse range of projects, including high-rise buildings, commercial offices, airports, hospitals, residential developments and landmark mixed-use projects.
The role will expose you to façade structural engineering, glass engineering, wind engineering, thermal performance, building physics, parametric design, digital modelling and site-based quality assurance.
You will work alongside experienced façade engineers, architects and multidisciplinary design teams, with strong mentorship and the opportunity to develop into a specialist engineer.
Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering Degree, or a related qualification;
- A graduate with up to two years’ experience;
- Has a passion for buildings, people and good design;
- Curious about how buildings perform;
- Enjoys solving complex engineering problems;
- Communicates well and works effectively in a team; and
- is eager to learn and develop within a specialist field.
- Experience in structural steel design would be an advantage.
- Experience or a strong interest in Rhino, Grasshopper and Revit would also be beneficial, particularly in parametric design and digital workflow integration.

We are seeking to appoint a seasoned Human Resources Generalist with proven expertise across the full HR value chain. This role is suited to a proactive and solutions-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic consulting environment and can effectively partner with leadership to support business performance and foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver efficient and effective HR support services across business divisions, managing the full employee lifecycle while supporting the HR Director in the delivery of strategic HR initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
Key responsiblities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection processes
- Facilitate onboarding and induction of new employees
- Support employee retention and engagement intiatives
- Coordinate training, learning and career development programmes
- Manage employee separation processes in line with company and legal requirements
- Assist with annual HR reporting, audits and compliance obligations
- Support the HR Director in executing HR projects and stategic intiatives
- Liaise with external service providers and partners
- Maintain accurate and compliant HR records and documentation
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Human Resources qualification
- 7-10 years’ experience in a generalist HR role
- Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation, including: BCEA, LRA, Employment Equity, Skills Development, B-BBEE
- Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate level)
- Experience with Payspace payroll advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools in HR practices
