An exciting new mixed-use development bordered by Somerset Road, Dixon, Jarvis and Napier streets in Green point to complement the existing Cape Quarter Phase 1 shopping experience featuring 11,000 m² of additional retail area, 8,250 m² A-grade offices, a floor of serviced apartments and 950 parking bays in a 4 level underground parking garage.
Excavating a city block four floors below road level whilst retaining existing facades facing Somerset Road was a real challenge successfully met.
Another structural optimization challenge was dealing with the vertical load takedown through the different grid regularity of residential, commercial, retail and parking vertically stacked.
